Improving the disk I/O performance in qemuThanks to Svante Signell who pointed out this simple option:
You can try the following for the HDD parameters! Replace -hda hurd-raw.img with -drive cache=writeback,index=0,media=disk,file=hurd-raw.img
I really have acceptable performances now.
What does the installer look like?Well, if you already installed Debian in text mode, you won't even realize you're installing Hurd rather than Linux.
